Bradbury Equipment History
Bradbury now celebrating 113 years in business has a long history within the Automotive Industry.
Joseph Bradbury started the company making equipment for local cycle manufacturers.
Bradbury’s first four post lift built in 1948/49 was the 2.5t Vilver.
In 1954 a revolution in lift technique, the Bradbury Lift master enabled a vehicle to be lifted by its wheels or by its chassis.
The lift master Mk.1 sold over 22,000 lifts between 1962 and 1976.
The lift master Mk.2 sold over 8,000 lifts between 1975 and 1979.
The Lift Master Mk.3 1979 was the first to have the control box at eye level.
The distinctive Yellow has not always been the Bradbury colour, between 1948 and 1971 all the company's` products were painted blue.
In the 1980`s, 90`s up to the present day the Bradbury 40 Series lift sold thousands into the automotive market many into manufacturers including Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Jaguar, Landrover, Nissan, the list goes on.
Over the years Bradbury has been owned by many different companies from privately owned to large PLC but latterly were acquired by the family owned Stenhoj group from Denmark in October 2004 and in October 2005 Bradbury Equipment moved its head office into new headquarters in Northampton offices. |
